4th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group
4th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group (4 CRPG) is responsible for Canada’s four western provinces and reports to the 3rd Canadian Division (3 Cdn Div).
The unit generates and provides specialized support to other Canadian Armed Forces units, domestic operations, and communities in isolated, remote and coastal regions across Western Canada.
A Canadian Ranger Patrol can provide a number of capabilities to a community/region:
- Assist local officials with Ground Search and Rescues;
- Support officials during a natural disaster or emergencies;
- Conduct or support Canadian Armed Forces Domestic Operations;
- Provide a continued Canadian Armed Forces presence in a community; and
- Maintain Local Area Resource Report.
