The war game is an essential piece of any planning process.

We need to be able to test the plan in a neutral environment where we, as planners, are not fully and directly involved.

For this war game, we focused on the operational framework.

We are testing the organization that we built, and we are testing some of the ways that we can use it.

We have the deep, the close and the rear.

For many years, we focused on the close, which is where the brigades are fighting.

Now, what we want to do at the division level, is focus on the deep, where we have the artillery and reconnaissance elements, and the rear, where we have the security elements and also the sustainment brigades.

We will extract a lot of lessons from how we will design the Army, if there's any missing pieces.

If there's any capabilities that are required in order to enhanceenhance the deep and the rear.

This war game is a great opportunity to bring a lot of people from all across Canada, with a very high level of expertise, to look at how the plan can be executed and also challenge some of the thoughts.

That will be an opportunity for us to enhance the planning that was already conducted and make sure that all angles are covered for the Army modernization.
