Supporting Social Infrastructure in Charlottetown

For 90 years, the Royal Canadian Legion in Charlottetown has been a pillar of the community. Incorporated as a non-profit veterans’ organization in 1926, and with 400 active members, the Legion remains committed to promoting remembrance and supporting those who serve and have served the country, and their families. The Legion is also widely used by many residents of Charlottetown as a key piece of social infrastructure in the city.
Sean Casey, Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced funding to support a series of improvements which will address accessibility and security of the facility, update the food and beverage area, and modernize the lower level of the building.
The Government of Canada is investing $26,050 in this project through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
