The community centre in Kinkora has been serving the community for over three decades and continues to be a key piece of infrastructure for residents and visitors alike. Kinkora Place is a multi-purpose facility that is actively promoted and used for a variety of functions; so staying modern and competitive is key to its prosperity.
The Honourable Wayne Easter, Member of Parliament for Malpeque, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, today announced $92,501 in funding from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) to support upgrades to the community centre. The community will match the federal funding for a project total of $185,001.
Upgrades to the centre will include improvements to the air conditioning and heating system, roof and flooring repairs, new electronic signage, audio equipment, and a 600 square foot addition to the building.
In Atlantic Canada, CIP 150 is administered through ACOA.
