Treetop Haven Inc. Goes Above and Beyond
News Release
Amenities found at “glamping” destinations far exceed anything recreational campers traditionally experience
January 23, 2017 – Mount Tryon, PE – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
Glamour camping, or “glamping”, is a new tourism trend that allows campers to experience the great outdoors without sacrificing luxury. Be it an igloo, hut, villa, or teepee, glamping combines the charm of the great outdoors and the amenities of the great indoors to create a memorable camping experience. Sheila Arsenault, owner of Treetop Haven Inc. in Mount Tryon, is offering her own take on non-traditional camping with her TreePODs, spherical domes nestled in the trees, ten feet above ground.
The Honourable Wayne Easter, Member of Parliament for Malpeque, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced support for Treetop Haven Inc. to bring this new accommodation product to PEI. The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, is supporting this project with a $400,896 repayable contribution.
The five TreePODs will sleep from one to six people and consist of one or two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchenette, lounge, private hot tub and deck. The Nest Venue Centre will have the capacity to accommodate up to 100 guests for meetings and events. Treetop Haven will be open year-round, offering travelers a unique experience in nature with each season that passes.
