Quotes

“Community centers and public gathering spaces form an essential part of every community. The Government of Canada believes that investing in strategic community projects to upgrade public facilities helps create new opportunities while strengthening the middle class and those seeking to join it.”

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA.

“The Government of Canada is pleased to be able to work closely with the Village of Minto to support this project which is important to the residents of this community. The entire region benefits when facilities are upgraded as they not only contribute to the vitality of the community, but also to the quality of life of the families that live there.”

Pat Finnigan, Member of Parliament for Miramichi – Grand Lake

“The Village of Minto welcomes the ACOA funding to help our community with the retrofit of the building that houses our Public Library, Internment Camp Museum, GED Classroom, Minto Country Music Wall of Fame, and a meeting room for the use of a host of volunteer organizations. Phase one of this project will concentrate on water infiltration mitigation and would have been difficult to finance without the contribution from the federal government. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pat Finnigan, MP for Miramichi – Grand Lake for his continued interest in our community and his efforts devoted to this file.”
