Major Expansion Underway At Petz International

Supporting businesses in rural communities helps create opportunities for business growth and good paying jobs for the middle-class and those looking to join it. Petz International Ltd., a producer of high-end natural treats for the pet industry is expanding its facilities, thanks to investments from the federal and provincial governments.
Alaina Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Fundy - Royal, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Honourable Roger Melanson, President of Treasury Board and Minister responsible for Trade Policy, joined Petz International Ltd. officials today for the announcement.
The expansion will help the company meet required certification standards to help ensure continued growth and greater export opportunities.
The Government of Canada is providing a repayable contribution of $500,000 through ACOA’s Business Development Program. The Government of New Brunswick is investing $30,000 in the project, while Petz International is investing $370,000.
This initiative builds on commitments made by the Government of Canada and the four Atlantic provinces to drive economic growth in the region through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which supports strategic investments in initiatives that build on the region’s competitive advantages, such as its strong export potential, growing innovation ecosystem, and skilled workforce.
