COWS Inc. will acquire new equipment to increase production for growing demand of its chocolate line

PEI-based COWS Inc. is tantalizing the taste buds of chocolate enthusiasts, and the demand for its specialty Anne of Green Gables Chocolates and chocolate-covered chips is growing. The Government of Canada understands that when companies innovate and diversify, success follows. This is one of the many recipes this Island company follows and they certainly have sights on more future success.
Sean Casey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced funding for COWS Inc. to purchase additional equipment for its chocolate production. The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program is providing a repayable contribution of $65,810. The company will provide the remaining funds for the equipment costs.
Starting with a family-secret recipe for ice cream, this company has grown since 1983 to include additional product lines, award-winning cheeses, butter, comical clothing and products as well as its ever-popular Anne of Green Gables Chocolates and Chocolate Covered Chips. COWS Inc. has seasonal and permanent locations in five provinces across the country, with its newest location in Whistler, British Columbia. The wholesale side of the company’s business is also growing and the new equipment is a key element to keeping up with this demand.
