Moncton Receives Federal Funding For Riverfront Re-vitalization

The Government of Canada recognizes that investing in modern public infrastructure is crucial to economic growth and creating inclusive communities where everyone has access to public services and job opportunities.
Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced that the Government of Canada, under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150), is providing $251,170 for a riverfront improvement project. The City of Moncton is investing $251,165 toward this project.
The project involves multiple upgrades including improved trail connections, a redeveloped and functional outlook building, opportunities for public art space and enhancements to the boardwalk through fixtures and furniture.
The CIP150 is providing up to $300 million nationally over two years to support projects to rehabilitate, renovate and expand community and recreational infrastructure as part of the Government of Canada’s activities to honour Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities and celebrate Canada’s rich heritage and history.
