Tracadie families will benefit from improved community space for a better quality of life

All Canadians deserve to live in inclusive and vibrant communities where they can connect with their friends and neighbours. Investing in local community infrastructure will improve existing facilities, build stronger community ties and strengthen the middle class and those seeking to join it.
Serge Cormier, Member of Parliament for Acadie-Bathurst and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), along with the Honourable Serge Rousselle, MLA for Tracadie-Sheila and Minister of Environment and Local Government, Minister of Service New Brunswick, Attorney General and Minister for Northern New Brunswick, today announced federal and provincial support for the eco-educational park project at École Le Tremplin.
The funding will enable the Town of Tracadie to improve the eco-educational park facilities so that the youth and residents in the community can gather and learn more about the environment. The improved facilities will serve as awareness and educational tools.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA, is providing $80,200 under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150), a $300‑million fund that was established to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday through investments in the community spaces that bring Canadians together. Of that amount, up to $33.2 million is being invested in Atlantic Canada.
The Government of New Brunswick is providing $85,000, which includes $80,000 from the Regional Development Corporation and $5,000 from the Department of Social Development.
