A New Vision for Downtown Development in Stephenville

Downtown Stephenville Business Improvement Association aims to improve environment for new and existing businesses

Vibrant downtown cores are instrumental in creating a sense of place and directly correlated to business attraction and retention. The governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador are investing $67,500 to help the Downtown Stephenville Business Improvement Association Corporation create an updated vision for downtown development in Stephenville.
Gudie Hutchings, Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced $48,750 through the Business Development Program and the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, announced $18,750 in provincial funding.
The Downtown Stephenville Business Improvement Association Corporation will hire a consultant to help create a community vision for downtown development in Stephenville. The project will include a detailed consultation with the community that will inform a comprehensive design with recommendations for a phased development approach.
