Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association will Promote Sector through Three-Year Marketing Plan

Federal and provincial government investments of more than $553,000 to help provincial outfitting industry

The Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association Inc. (NLOA) will use marketing and research to promote the provincial outfitting sector and build on previous initiatives designed to expand the outfitting sector within the provincial tourism industry. The governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador are investing a total of $553,183 to support this marketing and research initiative.

Gudie Hutchings, Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced $410,476 from ACOA’s Business Development Program (BDP) while the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, announced $142,707 in provincial funding.

NLOA's marketing strategy, to be developed and implemented over the next three years, will position provincial outfitters to better brand, market, and promote their products and services to international markets. The end result will be a focus on attracting new clients in existing markets, opening new markets, and streamlining marketing techniques to these areas
