Tobique-Mactaquac Community Organizations Receive Funds to Enhance Community Infrastructure

December 19, 2017 – Florenceville-Bristol, (NB) – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

All Canadians deserve to live in inclusive and vibrant communities where they can connect with their friends and neighbours. Investing in local community infrastructure will improve existing facilities, build stronger community ties and strengthen the middle class and those seeking to join it.

Today, TJ Harvey, Member of Parliament for Tobique-Mactaquac, announced a combined investment of $133,534 for Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) projects in his riding.

These announcements were made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

Support for these projects is being  provided by the Government of Canada through the CIP 150. Funding in Atlantic Canada is delivered through ACOA. These investments, to honour Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities and celebrate Canada’s rich heritage and history. The projects announced in communities across Tobique-Mactaquac involve the following project work:

  • Village of Perth Andover
    Project Description: Upgrades to docking facilities
    Funding Awarded: $62,427

  • Woodstock First Nation
    Project Description: Rehabilitate and upgrade Woodstock First Nation’s cultural space
    Funding Awarded: $41,397

  • New Brunswick Potato Museum
    Project Description: Upgrades to outdoor public space to include a shelter for events
    Funding Awarded: $14,560

  • Beaverbrook Legion Branch #80
    Project Description: Renovations to upgrade existing roof
    Funding Awarded: $7,650

  • Florenceville Legion Branch #37
    Project Description: Upgrades to improve energy efficiency
    Funding Awarded: $7,500
