Helping Atlantic Canadian businesses succeed in the global market is integral to generating growth, creating jobs and strengthening the country’s middle class. This is why the Government of Canada is investing $430,815 in Nova Scotia Organics to help the rural Nova Scotia company market its complete line of USDA Certified Organic vitamins, minerals, supplements and snacks to growing markets in Asia and the European Union.

Darrell Samson, Member of Parliament for Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook, was onsite today touring the facilities at Nova Scotia Organics and announced the assistance on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). The repayable contribution is being made through ACOA’s Business Development Program, which helps small and medium-sized enterprises expand and modernize to improve competitiveness.

The company will use the funds to implement a marketing plan to build on existing export markets and drive additional sales in Canada, Japan, the United States and Europe. This will allow the company to create awareness of its certified organic products, a key attribute in a growing global marketplace.

This investment builds on commitments made by the Government of Canada and the four Atlantic Provinces to drive economic growth in the region through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which involves targeted actions to create opportunities for all Atlantic Canadians, support long-term growth and position the region to capitalize on emerging opportunities in a variety of areas including trade.
