Improvements will Benefit Community Groups and Families

Riverside-Albert residents will benefit from more accessible community infrastructure as a result of more than $46,000 from the Government of Canada.
The funding was announced today by Alaina Lockhart, Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Tourism and Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
The Albert Agricultural Society #133 received funds to support improvements to the Albert County Exhibition Hall, including the construction of a roof overhang to promote the use of the outdoor space as well as the addition of accessible washrooms and other upgrades to increase accessibility to the facility.
This project was partly funded through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150), a $300‑million fund that was established to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday through investments in the community spaces that bring Canadians together. Of that amount, up to $33.2 million was invested in Atlantic Canada.
