News release

November 19, 2018–Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Reinforcing innovative and emerging sectors, like cybersecurity, helps to strengthen and grow the middle class, to make Canada a better place now, and to build a sustainable economy for future generations. That is why the Government of Canada is teaming up with industry partners in New Brunswick to host a Cybersecurity Tour informing the public of the support available to help ensure that everyone is cyber secure.

Taking place between November 19-22 in Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton and Bathurst, the 2018 cybersecurity workshops bring together leaders in industry, academia, and government, to share expertise in cybersecurity, with a focus on issues critical to businesses and individuals. The Government of Canada is hosting this Cybersecurity Tour through Canada Business, in collaboration with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), CyberNB, a special Operating Agency of Opportunities NB, the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity and Bulletproof Solutions.

The Government of Canada is providing a non-repayable contribution of $32,726 through ACOA’s Business Development Program to support the tour.

This investment builds on the federal and provincial governments’ commitment to drive economic growth in Atlantic Canada through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which recognizes the importance of workforce development and innovation as key drivers of productivity, competitiveness and regional economic growth.

Registration for these events is free. To locate a workshop near you and to register, go to: https://canadabusiness.ca/events/2018-cybersecurity-workshops/.
