New Facility Vital for Avive Naturals’ Push into International Markets

News release

Natural health product and supplement manufacturer pursues enhanced quality assurance, organic and kosher certifications

November 15, 2018 – Lower Sackville, NS – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Establishing and sharpening a company’s edge in the intensely competitive global natural-product market requires high quality standards, adaptability and brand trust. That is why the Government of Canada helped Avive Naturals Inc. to relocate to a facility with specifically designed properties that ensure zero cross-contamination risks and provide for secure handling, storage and production of health supplements.

The move enables Avive Naturals to expand inventory capacity, maintain quality assurance requirements in line with Health Canada standards and pursue Certified Organic and Kosher producer statuses in response to the increasing demand for natural alternatives to aid in nutrition. Moreover, the new facility will allow Avive Naturals to focus its efforts on developing new Canadian and international markets for its award-winning products.

Darrell Samson, Member of Parliament for Sackville – Preston – Chezzetcook, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), participated in a tour of the new facility today.

A repayable contribution of $80,000 toward the relocation and facility improvements was made through ACOA’s Business Development Program, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to become more competitive and develop new export markets.

This investment builds on commitments made by the Government of Canada and the four Atlantic Provinces to drive economic growth in the region through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which supports strategic investments that accelerate the growth of business and industries, such as those in the manufacturing and health product sectors.
