Supporting Global Expansion at Eigen Innovations

News release

March 12, 2019 – Fredericton, NB – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Exporting innovative products to new markets brings wealth to our communities, helps businesses expand, and creates jobs for the middle-class and for those looking to join it. When companies are able to export successfully, there are significant economic rewards to the company, to the community, and to the region as a whole.

Eigen Innovations Inc. creates Artificial Intelligence (AI) business solutions that help its clients refine manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and improve their overall profitability. The company is expanding its current foothold within the U.S. and looking to fuel additional growth in new markets including Asia, and Europe. Thanks to Government of Canada assistance, Eigen will execute incremental market development activities targeting these regions. In addition, Eigen is filling two senior positions focused on data science and machine learning.

The Government of Canada, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is providing a contribution of $708,067 to assist with the marketing project, as well as two $50,000 contributions toward the senior level positions.

Matt DeCourcey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and Member of Parliament for Fredericton, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA, made the announcement today.

The Government of Canada is making smart investments that will create good, middle-class jobs in our country. It is helping small and medium-sized businesses to start-up, expand, or modernize and is supporting not-for-profit organizations to fuel business growth. Support for this project is one way the Government of Canada is working to achieve its Atlantic Growth Strategy outcome of long-term economic prosperity in the region.
