New Health Assessment Products to Spur Growth for Saint John Firm

Supporting the regional companies that are fueling the economy and exemplifying smart growth helps foster a thriving middle class and opens the country to new economic, social and environmental possibilities. With support from the Government of Canada, Canadian Health Solutions, Inc. is expanding its product offerings and launching a marketing plan expected to double sales and create up to forty new jobs.

Canadian Health Solutions, Inc. has been offering a unique Modularized Health Assessment (MHA) and consulting services to clients including large insurance companies, private corporations, and workers’ compensation boards since 2008. Now, Canadian Health Solutions, Inc. is adding six new modules to its existing health assessment offerings to help improve patient outcomes, and will undertake strategic marketing initiatives throughout Canada so more people can benefit. The Government of Canada is conditionally repayable contributions totalling $1 million to support these projects. 

Wayne Long, Member of Parliament for Saint John-Rothesay, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), along with Canadian Health Solution’s President and CEO Dr. David Elias, made the announcement today.

The Government of Canada is making smart investments that create good, middle-class jobs in our country. It is helping Atlantic Canadians develop and bring to market new products and services that lead to market success, help grow strategic sectors, or lead to the creation of research and commercialization partnerships. Support for this project is one way the Government of Canada is working to achieve its Atlantic Growth Strategy outcome of long-term economic prosperity in the region.

  • The Government of Canada invested $500,000 towards the development of new health assessment modules through ACOA’s Business Development Program (BDP) and $500,000 towards marketing initiatives through the Business Scale-Up and Productivity stream of ACOA’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program. 

  • The BDP primarily assists Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurs who want to start a business, increase productivity or improve operations. 

  • REGI’s Business Scale-up and Productivity stream supports businesses at various stages of development, including high-growth firms, to accelerate their growth, help them scale up and enhance their productivity and competitiveness in both domestic and global markets

  • Both the BDP and REGI continue to build on the objectives of the Innovation and Skills Plan, a multi-year strategy to create well-paying jobs for the middle class and those working hard to join it.
