Noggins Corner Farm upgrades processing equipment to meet increased product demand
December 10, 2020 · Greenwich, Nova Scotia · Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)
The Atlantic food and beverage industry must take advantage of growth opportunities to compete globally and contribute to the local economy. That is why the Government of Canada is supporting Nova Scotia fruit producer, Noggins Corner Farm Ltd as it upgrades its processes and expands its product offering to meet consumer demand.
Federal government supports scale-up of Atlantic Canadian agrifood producer
Today, Kody Blois, Member of Parliament for Kings–Hants, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, announced a repayable contribution of $600,000 to Noggins Corner Farm to upgrade its product line for fruit processing and packaging.
The new automated equipment will enable Noggins Corner Farm Ltd to more than double its production. By growing its operations, the company will be able to pursue new opportunities for its peaches, pears and nectarine products in markets across Atlantic Canada, Ontario and the Northeastern United States.
Today’s announcement is further proof of the Government of Canada’s commitment to Canadian food producers. Projects like this help to create jobs, strengthen local food supply chains, and ensure the food sector is well-positioned to contribute to Canada’s economic recovery.
