New glamping site to boost regional tourism

Tourism organizations are working hard to create new opportunities for communities, businesses, and operators, positioning the industry for a strong, swift recovery. That is why the Government of Canada is investing to help EKÖ NATURE Glamping Inc. of Lac Baker build unique year-round accommodations.

Ecotourism start-up provides unique accommodation for regional offerings

Today, René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, announced a repayable contribution of $225,000 to EKÖ NATURE Glamping Inc. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

This investment will support the construction of four luxurious domes with private outdoor spas in the Haut-Madawaska region. These facilities will provide year-round accommodations strategically located in the village of Lac Baker with access to hiking, snowmobile trails, mountain biking trails and lake side public beachs that provide fishing and kayaking opportunities for tourists.

Today’s announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to support Atlantic Canadian tourism organizations and operators as they continue to develop fresh approaches and innovative ways to overcome pandemic challenges, grow their business, and deliver world-class tourism experiences.

  • The funding announced today is provided through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s (ACOA) Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program.
