Backgrounder: Northumberland Shore will benefit from investments to draw people to downtowns and public spaces

Backgrounder

The Government of Canada is investing more than $700,000 (non-repayable) in 11 projects to revitalize communities and enhance their downtown cores.

This support includes $260,000 through the Rediscover Main Streets Initiative (RMSI) for three non-profit organizations as they generate new ideas to inspire locals and visitors to rediscover all that their main streets, downtowns and neighbourhoods have to offer.

More than $450,000 ($451,886) is invested through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to support eight shared spaces to stimulate local economies and improve the quality of life of Canadians.
