Minister Hutchings to make announcement, meet key stakeholders in St. John’s on February 21 and 22, 2024

The Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) will travel to St. John’s on February 21 and 22.

Minister Hutchings will make an announcement, alongside Minister Martinez Ferrada and the Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, announcing the details of a federal-provincial initiative to support the Atlantic Canada tourism industry.

  • Meet with Jill Curran, owner of Maxxim Vacations and Lighthouse Picnics
  • Meet with Precious Familusi, Entrepreneurship Engagement Manager,     Newfoundland & PEI, Black Business Initiative; Jocelyn Stevens, Assistant to the Director – BEP, Black Business Initiative; and Lloydetta Quaicoe,  Ph.D., O.N.L., LLD, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sharing Our Cultures.
  • Visit and tour Solace Power
  • Meet with Minister Crocker and multiple NL Airport Authority representatives and other stakeholders to discuss air access in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Visit and tour Sea-Force Hyperbaric Inc.
  • Meet with the Fish, Food and Allied Workers Union.
