Description of Graphic - A line chart showing sales volume

This chart is a line chart that shows the sales volume a company needs to start making money. The vertical line is titled ‘Costs’ and the horizontal line is titled “Sales (in Units)”. A line bisecting the chart at a diagonal shows where the amount of sales (13, 158 units) and total costs (118, 422) must meet for the company to break even. Any sales over this number will indicate a profit.

This chart also indicates that costs up to $50,000 are considered fixed costs and nonnegotiable. Anything above $50,000 is considered to be a variable cost.
