CBSA officers find suspected cocaine at the Toronto Pearson International Airport
News Release
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the seizure of 10 kg of suspected cocaine at the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
On April 23, 2016, CBSA officers monitoring the offload of luggage on a flight from the Dominican Republic noticed an unclaimed suitcase with a seemingly recycled airline tag. The suitcase was examined by officers and found to contain two backpacks with multiple brick-shaped bundles. The bundles were subsequently tested and proved positive for suspected cocaine.
The suspected cocaine was turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
