CBSA officers seize suspected cocaine hidden inside refrigeration unit

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today, the seizure of over 22 kilograms of suspected cocaine at Peace Bridge Commercial Operations.
On August 12, 2016, a border services officer referred a commercial truck and trailer driven by a Mississauga man to secondary for examination, after several inconsistencies during primary questioning.
During the progressive secondary examination, a CBSA officer examined the trailer’s refrigeration unit and uncovered 15 packages of suspected cocaine concealed inside. The packages were removed and field tested positive for suspected cocaine. The CBSA arrested the 50 year-old driver.
The driver and suspected cocaine were turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
