Significant carfentanil seizure by the CBSA in the Quebec Region

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the seizure of carfentanil at Montréal-Mirabel International Airport.

 

On December 22, 2016, CBSA officers at Montréal-Mirabel International Airport intercepted 209 grams of carfentanil in two packages from China. Both packages were from the same exporter and were destined to different residential addresses in the Montérégie region. They were sent for analysis by the CBSA laboratory, which confirmed that the substance was carfentanil.

 

The CBSA officers turned the carfentanil over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who are continuing the investigation.
