CBSA intercepts 19 stolen vehicles in April

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intercepted eight shipments of stolen vehicles at the Port of Halifax during the month of April.

On April 11, 2017, CBSA officers working with the CBSA Halifax Export Unit searched three containers destined for export. After running checks on the vehicles within the containers, it was determined that four vehicles were stolen.

On April 20, 2017, CBSA officers examined two more export containers. During this search, it was determined that they contained four stolen vehicles. The next day, an additional container was examined and was found to hold six stolen vehicles.

The Export Unit searched two other shipments on April 27, 2017, which revealed five more stolen vehicles.

The estimated value for these 19 stolen vehicles is $650,000.  The vehicles were transferred to Halifax Regional Police who continue the investigation.
