Temporary closure of the Whirlpool Bridge in Niagara Falls

As announced by the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) would like to remind NEXUS members that the Whirlpool Bridge will be closed from April 1 to May 5, 2019, to complete a demolition project on the U.S. side.

During the closure, Canada-bound NEXUS members may use the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge in Niagara-on-the-Lake and/or the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls. Both ports of entry will offer enhanced NEXUS services during this period:

  • Queenston-Lewiston Bridge will extend its NEXUS lane hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Sunday.
  • Rainbow Bridge will temporarily operate one NEXUS lane from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Sunday.

The Enrolment Centre, as well as the Iris Capture scan operating at the Whirlpool Bridge, will be temporarily relocated to the Enrolment Centre at the Peace Bridge (10 Central Avenue, Fort Erie, Ontario).

  • The Whirlpool Bridge is a dedicated NEXUS crossing, connecting Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York. Only NEXUS members are permitted to access this bridge.
