Announcement of the upgraded port of entry at Fraser, British Columbia

Fraser, British Columbia, August 25, 2022 – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) invites members of the media to attend an opening ceremony for the newly upgraded port of entry in Fraser, BC as part of the Land Border Crossing Project.
Nina Patel, Regional Director General, CBSA Pacific Region will be on hand to talk about the Land Border Crossing Project and how this project helps to build the border of the future and aids in smoother border crossing experiences. In partnership with the Taku River Tlingit First Nation, Indigenous interpretive signage will be revealed and displayed at the renovated port of entry. Charmaine Thom of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation will also speak on their notable and valued role in this project.
There will be opportunities to photograph and obtain b-roll of the port of entry and the Taku River Tlingit First Nation artwork.
Regional Director General, Nina Patel and Charmaine Thom of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation will be available after the ceremony to answer questions.

Media are asked to arrive no later than 10:40 a.m. to register and to have credentials/photo identification available.
The port of entry will be operational throughout the event.

- This is an outdoor event.
