Opening of the upgraded port of entry at North Portal, Saskatchewan

North Portal, Saskatchewan, October 18, 2022 – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) invites members of the media to attend an opening ceremony for the newly upgraded port of entry in North Portal, SK.

Lisa Laurencelle-Peace, Executive Director, CBSA Prairie Region will be on hand to talk about this multi-year border infrastructure project that will contribute to our economy and help keep Canadians safe. Artwork from a local Cree artist will be unveiled at the event to be displayed permanently at the port of entry.

There will be opportunities to photograph and obtain b-roll of the port of entry and the artwork.

Time:             10:00 a.m.

Location:      North Portal port of entry
                       Truck drive-through bay, adjacent to the Warehouse Examination Facility
                       Highway 39
                       North Portal, SK 

Media are asked to arrive no later than 9:40 a.m. to register and to have credentials/photo identification available.

The port of entry will be operational throughout the event. Identifying photos and videos of secure areas or border services officers on shift are prohibited.

Considerations:

  • This is an indoor event.
