The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is committed to keeping our communities safe.

The CBSA announces that between April 13 and May 14, 2023, officers at the Léo-Blanchette Mail Processing Centre in Montreal made fifteen seizures of ketamine for a total quantity of  89.8 kg. Ketamine is often used as a date rape drug, and is generally sold illegally in powder form. The total value of the ketamine seized was $6,076,000.

The drug was found in parcels from Germany, Hungary, Spain, Czechia and France. In all cases, the packages intercepted by border services officers were destined for addresses in Ontario. 

Investigations are ongoing.
