The Government of Canada, through Sport Canada's Hosting Program, assists sport organizations to host the Canada Games, the North American Indigenous Games and international sport events in Canada. Over 80 international single sport events take place on home soil each year. These events allow our athletes to compete against the world's best competition at home in front of enthusiastic Canadian fans.
Sport Canada also supports Canada's representation at international sporting events, such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
