Safety and Health Week National Launch Event Announced

April 28, 2023 – Hamilton, ON – National Committee for Safety and Health Week
From May 1-6, 2023, workplaces across North America will celebrate Safety and Health Week to show their commitment and raise awareness about injury and illness prevention in the workplace, at home and in the community.
The national partners of Safety and Health Week, including the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), and Threads of Life, will officially launch the week on Monday, May 1 with a free online event.
May 1: Safety and Health Week 2023 National Launch
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. EDT
This live event will feature inspiring stories and the announcement of the Focus on Safety National Youth Video Contest winners. The Honourable Seamus O’Regan Jr., Minister of Labour, will deliver greetings to officially launch the week, and participants will hear from national partners Aimee Arsenault, CSSE; Anne Tennier, President and Chief Executive Officer, CCOHS; and Shirley Hickman, Founder and Executive Director, Threads of Life. Threads of Life family speaker Virginia Campeau will share her personal story about the loss of her husband in a workplace incident. Live French audio interpretation and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available.
