This bar graph shows the Department of Finance Canada's total actual and planned spending, which includes statutory, voted and sunset programs spending, from 2012–13 to 2017–18.

In 2012–13, statutory spending was $82 billion, voted spending was $119 million, and spending for sunset programs was $1.5 billion.

In 2013–14, statutory spending was $83.9 billion, voted spending was $110 million, and spending for sunset programs was $1.5 billion.

In 2014–15, statutory spending is $86.8 billion, voted spending is $94 million, and spending for sunset programs is $53 million.

In 2015–16, statutory spending of $89.5 billion, voted spending of $95 million, and spending for sunset programs of $8 million are planned.

In 2016–17, statutory spending of $94 billion and voted spending of $87 million are planned. There is no planned spending for sunset programs for 2016–17.

In 2017–18, statutory spending of $98.6 billion and voted spending of $87 million are planned. There is no planned spending for sunset programs for 2017–18.
