This bar graph shows the Department of Finance Canada's total actual and planned expenditures, including sunset programs, from 2011–12 to 2016–17.

In 2011–12, total spending was $80.8 billion, and expenditures for sunset programs were $3.4 billion.

In 2012–13, total spending was $82.1 billion, and expenditures for sunset programs were $1.5 billion.

In 2013–14, total spending was $84.1 billion, and expenditures for sunset programs were $1.5 billion.

In 2014–15, total spending of $87.6 billion and expenditures for sunset programs of $53 million are planned.

In 2015–16, total spending of $91.1 billion and expenditures for sunset programs of $8 million are planned.

In 2016–17, total spending of $96.2 billion is planned. There are no planned expenditures for sunset programs for 2016–17.
