This bar graph shows the Department of Finance Canada's total actual and planned expenditures, including statutory, voted and sunset program spending, from 2013–14 to 2018–19.

In 2013–14, statutory spending was $83.9 billion, voted spending was $110 million, and spending for sunset programs was $1.5 billion. Total spending was $85.6 billion.

In 2014–15, statutory spending was $85.5 billion, voted spending was $120 million, and spending for sunset programs was $53 million. Total spending was $85.7 billion.

In 2015–16, statutory spending was $86.9 billion, voted spending was $86 million, and spending for sunset programs was $30 million. Total spending was $87 billion.

In 2016–17, statutory spending of $89.4 billion, voted spending of $87 million, and spending for sunset programs of $4 million are planned. Total planned spending is $89.5 billion.

In 2017–18, statutory spending of $92.8 billion and voted spending of $87 million are planned. There are no sunsetting programs in 2017–18. Total planned spending is $92.9 billion.

In 2018–19, statutory spending of $97.9 billion and voted spending of $87 million are planned. There are no sunsetting programs in 2018–19. Total planned spending is $98 billion.
