Minister of Finance to Meet With Advisory Council on Economic Growth

Ottawa – On Thursday, October 20, Finance Minister Bill Morneau will meet with members of the Advisory Council on Economic Growth – a group of 14 Canadian and international business and academic leaders mandated to provide the Minister with a range of views and advice on long-term, strategic growth of the economy. As part of this meeting, the Council will publish its first wave of recommendations to the Minister of Finance.

Minister Morneau and Advisory Council Chair Dominic Barton will take questions from the media following their remarks.

Note: The Council’s recommendations will be made available via the Department of Finance Canada website at 2:30 p.m.

Media attending in person may wish to arrive at 2:15 p.m. to be escorted to a location where they will be able to review the report in advance of the 3:30 p.m. media availability.
