Minister Morneau Highlights Canada's Economic Success at Fortune Global Forum

The Government of Canada is committed to strengthening and growing the middle class, and ensuring that everyone has a real and fair chance at success. When Canadian businesses are able to compete and succeed, it leads to more good, well-paying jobs that support Canadians and our communities.
Speaking to influential global business leaders in a question and answer session at the Fortune Global Forum in Toronto, Finance Minister Bill Morneau talked about how Canada's economy is faring, and highlighted actions the Government of Canada is taking to build a stronger and more competitive economy that works for everyone.
The Minister also promoted Canada as an investment destination, noting Canada's status as the fastest-growing G7 economy in 2017. On the importance of international trade, he noted that Canada is the only G7 country holding free trade agreements with every other G7 country—giving Canadian businesses access to 1.5 billion consumers around the world.
