Biographical Notes – Stephen Swaffield

Stephen Swaffield has significant experience in Canada’s financial and energy sectors. He has held senior roles with Canaccord Financial, Tarasen Inc., and RBC Capital Markets. He also provides strategic and financial advice to many energy sector companies as principal and president of Carbex Consulting Inc.

Mr. Swaffield has many years of advisory and board experience, from both public and private companies, as well as not-for-profit organizations. He is being reappointed as Chairperson of the Canada Development Investment Corporation’s Board of Directors, following his previous four-year term.

Mr. Swaffield holds a BA Honours and MA in Engineering Science from Oxford University, and is a European professional engineer, member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and member of the Institution of Gas Engineers. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD and a diploma in corporate governance from the Institute of Directors.
