Biographical Notes – Tashia Batstone

Backgrounder

Ms. Tashia Batstone is a dedicated public servant who has held senior executive positions in the financial services sector. In May 2021, she was appointed President and CEO of FP CanadaTM, the leading certification and oversight body for the financial planning profession in Canada.

Since joining FP Canada, she has worked extensively on promoting financial wellness for all Canadians; improving access to financial planning services; and increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the financial planning profession.

Before joining FP Canada, Ms. Batstone held senior executive positions at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. She played a significant role in the unification of the accounting profession in Canada and led the development of the CPA Certification Program.

Ms. Batstone’s belief in giving back has lead her to volunteer at organizations such as the CPA Canada Martin Family Initiative, the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

Ms. Batstone has completed a Directors Education Program at the Rotman School of Management. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Memorial University, a Chartered Professional Accountant degree from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University.
