Biographical Notes – Barry Rivelis

Backgrounder

Mr. Barry Rivelis has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Canadian Mint since June 2019.

Mr. Rivelis is the President of PBC Solutions (PBCS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Blue Cross. PBCS provides health benefit services to governments and large payer organizations.

Prior to his current role, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy and Information Officer at Pacific Blue Cross. Before that, Mr. Rivelis was the Chief Information Officer of the Provincial Health Services Authority (British Columbia), as well as Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Health Care. He has also previously been Vice President, Health Care at TELUS Corporation, Vice President of Cap Gemini in Vancouver, and a partner with Ernst & Young in Toronto.

In 2021, he was selected by Business in Vancouver’s (BIV) as one of the 500 most influential business leaders in British Columbia, and in 2019, he was chosen as BIV’s Chief Information Officer of the Year. 

Mr. Rivelis is a Member of the Honorary Governors’ Council of the Vancouver Foundation and the Information Technology Advisory Council of the University of British Columbia. He is a former member of the Board of the Vancouver Foundation and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Rivelis holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University. He is also a recipient of the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management.
