Biographical Notes – Boon Sim

Mr. Boon Sim has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) since July 2020.

Mr. Sim has nearly three decades of global experience in the finance industry and expertise in a range of sectors, including technology and healthcare. Between 2012 and 2017, Mr. Sim held senior roles with Temasek International, most recently as President, Americas, Head of Markets Groups, and Head of Life Science and Credit Portfolios. In 2017, he founded Artius Capital Partners, a growth and private equity investment firm based in New York, where he is also Managing Director.

Prior to joining Temasek, Mr. Sim spent twenty years with Credit Suisse Group and its predecessor firm, The First Boston Corporation, including in various leadership positions, most recently as Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. Before joining The First Boston Corporation, he was a design engineer at Texas Instruments Inc., focusing on semiconductor design and process automation.

Mr. Sim is currently a member of the Yale University School of Management Board of Advisors. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Private and Public Management from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore.
