Biographical Notes – John Montalbano
Backgrounder
Mr. John Montalbano has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) since February 2017.
Mr. Montalbano serves as a Director on a number of corporate boards, including AbCellera Biologics (Audit Chair), Aritzia Inc., Nicola Wealth (Lead Director), and Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Audit Chair). He is currently a member of the Rideau Hall Foundation Board, Gairdner Foundation, Windmill Microlending, and past Chair of both the Vancouver Police Foundation and the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
Mr. Montalbano previously served as Vice Chairman of RBC Wealth Management, Chair of the University of British Columbia, CEO of RBC Global Asset Management, and President of Phillips and Hager & North Investment Management.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
