Biographical Notes – Nadir Mohamed

Mr. Nadir Mohamed is Chair of Alignvest Management Corporation, and previously served as the President and CEO of Rogers Communications Inc. from March 2009 to December 2013. Mr. Mohamed joined Rogers Communications in August 2000 and served as President and CEO of Rogers Wireless from 2001 through 2005, when he was appointed President and COO of Rogers Communications Group.

Mr. Mohamed has been engaged in a variety of community organizations and over the past few years has focused on advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in Canada. He is the Co-Founder of ScaleUp Ventures, Chair of DMZ Ventures, and serves on a number of boards, including Cineplex, the Vector Institute, and the UHN Foundation. He is a founding Board Member of NEXT 36/NEXT Canada.

In October 2013, Mr. Mohamed was honoured by the UN Association in Canada at their 2013 Global Citizens Dinner, and in 2019, he was appointed to the Order of Canada.

Mr. Mohamed holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. He earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1981 and was awarded his Fellow Chartered Accountant designation in 2010.
