Biographical Notes – Greg Gallo
Backgrounder
Greg Gallo is currently the Senior Director, Trade Remedies Analysis and Chief Economist for the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC) supporting the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT). Between 2019 and 2022 he held the position of Acting Executive Director at the ATSSC to the CITT, the Competition Tribunal and the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Tribunal. Mr. Gallo recently returned to the ATSSC from an assignment as the Acting Secretary General to the Copyright Board of Canada.
Prior to that, Mr. Gallo garnered extensive experience as an economist and diplomat. He was a special advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister of the International Trade and Finance Branch at the Department of Finance Canada, held the position of Finance Counsellor at the High Commission of Canada to the United Kingdom, was head of Aboriginal policy at the Federal-Provincial Relations and Social Policy Branch at the Department of Finance Canada, and was the First Secretary at Canada’s permanent delegation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Mr. Gallo has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics from the University of Victoria, a Masters in Economics from Queen’s University and attended Georgetown University Law Center’s Academy of World Trade Organization Law and Policy.
