The following section lists the transfer payments made to provinces and territories that are not captured as part of the regular monthly payments or payments made under the Fiscal Stabilization Program.
2023-24
Provinces and territories received an additional health payment under Part V.1 (section 24.74) of the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act. This $2 billion Canada Health Transfer top-up addresses immediate pressures on the health care system, especially in pediatric hospitals and emergency rooms, and long wait times for surgeries. The payments were made on June 30, 2023.
