Congratulations on accepting your new job offer with the Department of National Defence (DND)! As a New Casual Employee it’s important to recognize what your role is within our Department and to understand how to use your time with us to develop your skills, network and collaborate with others, and to gain as much valuable experience and knowledge as possible to help you move forward in your career within the Public Service. Development

Check out the training and development tools offered by the Canada School or Public Service (CSPS) and the Defence Learning Network (DLN).

With your manager:

• Review the Common DND/CAF Mandatory Training List* (available in the Defence Learning Catalogue)
• Review the various developmental training offered through CSPS and the DLN and discuss your individual training plan.

Networking

Take some time to build relationships with peers and colleagues to develop your network and to increase your chance of employment opportunities within the Department or Public Service.
