I'm a natural.
Hi. I'm Cdr Steve Kaufman, contingent commander for Joint Task Force Nijmegen and director of the Victory March and I'm here to take the 60 Seconds Challenge.
“What inspires you?”
Youth and the next generations. Whether that be 20 years younger than me or 50 years younger than me.
“Why is Canada's relationship with the Netherlands important?”
It's truly a fine example of bilateral relationship between the countries based on trust and respect.
“What is the best advice you ever been given?”
“Forward, march.”
“Why does the Dutch send a thousand tulips to Ottawa each year?”
For having sheltered Princess Juliana during the war. That became the genesis of the Ottawa Tulip Festival. (crowd): Ah!
“Who can participate in Victory March?”
You mean “who should”: everyone.
“Would you march in Dutch wooden clogs?”
No.
“Name a fun fact about the Netherlands.”
The Dutch eats the most licorice per capita.
“How do you practice healthcare?”
I try to eat right, but if I can't, I just march more kilometres.
How was that? Oh no, there's a question left! Doh!
