Capt Ricard: "If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?"
Golf balls. I do lose a lot of those.
Hi, my name is Captain Georges Ricard. I'm a Physician Assistant in the Canadian Armed Forces. And today, I'm taking the 60 Seconds Challenge. Here we go!
"What is a Physician Assistant?"
It's an extension of a medical officer, or a doctor.
"Where can Physician Assistants in the Canadian Armed Forces work?"
Everywhere, really. Clinics, mostly. But we also do work remotely on ships and up North in Alert.
"Do you have a hidden talent?"
I play the drums. I learned when I was in Bosnia, and I haven't stopped since.
"What made you decide to become a Physician Assistant in the CAF?"
Well, it was just natural progression for me. I joined as a Med Tech early on in my career. And after watching some PAs, I decided that that's what I was going to be.
"Who inspires you?"
My father. My father is a Physician in the CAF, and really inspires me everyday.
"How do you practice self-care?"
The biggest thing I do is sports. So, hockey in the winter, golf in the summer.
And that's it for the 60 Seconds Challenge!
